More and More Properties Available for Buyers
According to data compiled by the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), 6 205 transactions were recorded in the province of Quebec in February 2023, a decrease of 30 per cent. Active listings are up 49 per cent and new listings decreased by 9 per cent compared to February 2022.
Regarding the median price, the largest change was for plexes, which decreased by 19 per cent. The median price of single-family homes decreased by 5 per cent and condominiums by 4 per cent.
Here are the February 2023 median prices for a single-family home in the 7 CMAs along with the variation from February of last year.
- Montréal : $515,000 (-6 per cent)
- Gatineau : $457,500 (-1 per cent)
- Sherbrooke : $350,000 (0 per cent)
- Québec : $331,010 (-1 per cent)
- Drummondville : $286,850 (-12 per cent)
- Trois-Rivières : $285,000 (+11 per cent)
- Saguenay : $250,000 (+14 per cent)
