What the real estate market looks like in September?

According to data compiled by the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), 5 873 transactions were recorded in the province of Quebec in September 2023, an increase of 1 per cent. Active listings are up 13 per cent and new listings increased by 2 per cent compared to September 2022.

Regarding the median price, the largest change was for plexes, which increased by 10 per cent. The median price for single-family homes increased by 8 per cent and for condominiums increased by 6 per cent.

Here are the September 2023 median prices for a single-family home in the 7 CMAs along with the variation from September of last year.

  • Montréal : $549,000 (+3 per cent)
  • Gatineau : $434,500 (0 per cent)
  • Sherbrooke : $393,500 (+15 per cent)
  • Drummondville : $360,000 (+11 per cent)
  • Québec : $353,500 (+7 per cent)
  • Trois-Rivières : $324,000 (+8 per cent)
  • Saguenay : $250,005 (+1 per cent)
